Finally! Details on the wine auction to benefit the Friends of the Animal Shelter.
Thank you all SO MUCH for participating in the Iowa Flood Relief Auction! Thanks to our generous donors and wonderful bidders, the eBay portion of the auction raised $6,716 for the Kirkwood Foundation's Friends of the Animal Shelter Fund! The animals, their owners, and the shelter staff and I are so grateful!
I know many of you are anxious to bid on the three bottles of wine offered by Schramsberg and Frog's Leap. I was unable to come to a resolution with eBay on hosting this part of the auction on their site, so instead the auction will be conducted via e-mail.
The wine auction will start today, Monday, July 14, and run through 11:59 pm PDT on Tuesday, July 15. The auction procedure is as follows:
1. Send an e-mail to iowafloodreliefauction@gmail.com with the name of the wine you are bidding on in the SUBJECT LINE. (Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs OR Frog's Leap Merlot)
2. In the first line of the body of your message, list the price you are offering as your bid.
3. Below your bid, list your name, shipping address, PayPal address, and date of birth. (DOB is for legal age verification only.)
Since two magnums of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs are available, the two highest bids will win. If you would like to bid on both bottles, send two separate e-mails with your bids, titled "Schramsberg 1" and "Schramsberg 2" in the respective subject lines.
If identical bids are received for any item, the earlier bid will win (the e-mail timestamp will count as the time of bid).

In compliance with current state laws, wine may only be shipped to those states listed below:
AK, CA, CO, DC, FL, HI, IA, ID, IL, MN, MO, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, OH, OR, SC, TX, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY
BIDS FROM SHIPPING ADDRESSES IN STATES NOT INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE LIST, OR FROM PEOPLE UNDER 21, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THIS AUCTION.
The shipping address included in your e-mail bid will be the address the wine will be sent to, should you win the auction.
Tuesday Update
The high bids for the three wine lots will be posted here on Tuesday morning, and also sent out via e-mail to the Iowa Flood Relief Auction e-mail list. (Sign up on the homepage if you haven’t yet done so.) This will give you a chance to raise your bid, if necessary. The procedure to increase your bid is the same as the steps listed above--just send another e-mail to iowafloodreliefauction@gmail.com with your new bid, and the same information required for your original bid.
Winner Notification
Winning bidders will receive notification that they have won their lot(s) via e-mail on Wednesday morning, July 16. An e-mail newsletter will be sent out via the Iowa Flood Relief Auction mailing list later in the day, stating the winning bid for each lot (not the bidder names), and the OVERALL TOTAL RAISED BY THE AUCTION!!! (Details will also be posted on the Iowa Flood Relief Auction homepage.)
Payment
Winners will receive a PayPal invoice for their winning bid plus shipping charges. (Wine ships from California via UPS Ground at $15 per bottle.) I will personally cover the shipping for any bottle that sells for $150 or over.
Payment must be received by 9:00 am PDT on Monday, July 21st. As with the other auction items, your shipping information will be sent to the wineries once payment is received.
